Circular Economy Precinct

We have a bold vision for a truly circular Mornington Peninsula.

Support our campaign for a collaborative community

Circular Economy Precinct.

What is a Circular Precinct?

  • A collaborative community space which uses Circular Economy frameworks to reduce, reuse and recycle.

  • Implemented by key stakeholders including government, business and industry, university and research institutions and community groups to share infrastructure and resources.

  • Advancing the Circular Economy by recirculating resources to address global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste and pollution.

  • Share ways to reduce including zero waste, plastic-free, and carbon neutral initiatives. Design out waste by using less, using longer and using again.

  • Share ways to reuse including buy second-hand, hire and repair programs. Reuse existing assets and materials to reduce the need for new resources.

  • Share ways to recycle and maximise materials circularity including easier disassembly and separation, efficient waste sorting systems and education resources.
